Nedlandic produces plastic cross-country jumps that mimic the look of natural materials like branches and logs, but with the durability of plastic.

At an eventing competition, you’ll always see the most unique and creative obstacles. Great care goes into the design and selection of these jumps. It’s crucial that they are safe and easy to transport. There are many types of cross-country obstacles, and at Nedlandic we specialize in plastic cross-country jumps. These obstacles have the look and feel of traditional natural-material jumps—such as branches and logs—but are made of durable plastic. Curious about all our cross-country jumps? International eventing rider Alice Naber Lozeman explains them all in these videos!

Plastic Cross-Country Obstacles for Every Level

Our cross-country obstacles may look spectacular and might seem intimidating to beginner riders at first glance. But appearances can be deceiving—we also offer great options for lower-level riders. With our low brush jumps riders can safely get acquainted with cross-country obstacles. Jumping cross-country fences is very different from jumping standard poles.

Advanced riders will also find plenty of challenge. Many of our obstacles can be adjusted in height using a telescopic standard, so the rider can decide how much difficulty they want to add—such as with our adjustable brush jump. Our full roll top s also height-adjustable. This jump is the plastic version of a classic log obstacle.

Using

Het gebruik van plastic has several advantages. First and foremost, plastic is highly weather-resistant. This means the obstacles can be stored outdoors when not in use. As mentioned before, safety is a top priority on an eventing course. Our brush jumps are designed to look like they’re made of twigs—but unlike real branches, they are not sharp and pose no risk to horses.

Many of the jumps have rounded shapes to prevent horses from getting caught. Using safety cups further increases safety—if enough pressure is applied, the cup releases from the adapter and the jump falls to the ground, avoiding entanglement with the horse’s legs.

Another benefit of plastic is that it’s lightweight. This makes the jumps easy to move. Need to shift the obstacle a meter forward? Two people can easily lift and reposition it. This also makes them perfect for placing in your indoor or outdoor arena to prepare at home for the eventing season.

We’re used to seeing natural-looking jumps in cross-country, but plastic cross-country obstacles are becoming increasingly popular. So next time you’re considering a new jump—think plastic!
